The greatest value I get from attending the Club Solutions Leadership Retreat is the opportunity to network with a diverse group of owners and operators. Connecting with professionals from both small boutique clubs and large health clubs with dozens of facilities allowed for a free flow of information and ideas. The exchange of different perspectives has been incredibly insightful. Additionally, the leadership focus on "Leading with Humanness" really stood out to me. This concept emphasizes the importance of empathy and understanding when it comes to harnessing the full potential of our teams. It's a lesson I plan to bring back and apply within our own facilities.

I think one thing I take away from the Retreat is the tremendous networking opportunities. You’re working with so many operators in the industry that have been there, you’re sharing ideas and concepts. The roundtables are such a neat experience where people are open and willing to share what they’re doing in their facilities, what’s working, what’s not working, and you come away with very valuable information. What I love about this Retreat is that it’s self-contained. What I mean by that is when you get here from begging to end everything is taken care of so you can really focus on your conversations and relationships. Even the Demo Times you get to see everyone, you get to make a connection and really have a plan to follow up later. I think it’s a great balance between content, education and actually networking. The Retreat does a tremendous job of giving us the opportunity to get the most out of the time we’re here.

The Club Solutions Leadership Retreat allows club operators and senior staff a place to come together and discuss topics of the highest concern that we all share in some capacity. Club staffing/labor is always an uphill battle, as we all want the best and the brightest. There were some great stories shared on how people joined the industry at a young age. It was not their intent to stay but they saw a great opportunity. It takes a great network of people to strategize and lean on so we can hopefully make more of those stories a reality for the club staff we have, grow and train them to be amazing leaders. The Retreat was amazing, a great opportunity for me to get to know a few more people within the industry and hear the updates on what lies ahead for them.

I like the forced interaction of the Retreat. If I'm being honest, I've done other events in the industry for so long, and you just find that there's entire vendors that you don't end up visiting, or there's entire club operations that you don't connect with because people tend to congregate where they're comfortable. I think what I liked the most is, this is an anti-click establishment. Everyone interacts with everyone, and a lot of good came out of that.

We love this event. We do it every year. It's hugely valuable for us. I think there's a good mix of return attendees as well as brand new ones. We like that blend. You know, sometimes you have too much of just the brand new or too much of the people that have been here every year. It gets a little stale. But this event does a great job of kind of keeping it fresh.
